6/1/10

Hello Summer?

Well, not so much, although it has been a bit warmer...not enough to bead on the porch, but overcast enough to encourage working inside. I've been beading in the morning while watching a movie or TV episode on the computer and then doing outside work in the afternoon. Today we start doing the signage at the visual arts center for their new exhibits, both focused on glass this month.
So a little progress, but it will be slow this week.

Edited 6/2 to add: info on a local show I have two pieces in...and I just found out I won a Judge's Ribbon for my wall piece entitled , Free.

Summer finally arrived in Northern Indiana.

The two hands is this post are stunning!! Each one. So much that I don't even have a preference.

Hope you get to bead outside today.

I'm glad summer has arrived somewhere, carol, cause we're in the middle of a wind/rain storm over here on the coast.

As always, thanks so much for the kind words about my work.

It doesn't surprise me at all that you won a ribbon for your work. It is exquisite.

Congratulations! the pieces are so gorgeous. I was telling Barry the other day looking on the web somewhere at a necklace - without a doubt made in China with some absolutely boring circle of beads in different colors, it was I think like 3-inch in diameter and it was selling for over $400 "what are Bobby's pieces truly worth compared to this assembly line boring waste of resources?" because I truly think that what you make is pure elegance and incredibly detailed work. So I am not surprised about the ribbon but pleased for the recognition.

We are in the middle of the monsoon season here as well. Our garden if all but beaten down into the ground and the roses needed to be pruned (in June!) because the tall ones were in danger of getting some serious broken canes.
Ah the joys of our beloved state.
Be well, take care of yourself.

and nicole, hope to meet you in person sometime this "summer", lol!
oh yes, allegra...I'm afraid to see the rose garden in corvallis and I wonder how the big one is doing in portland...keeping the resident gardeners busy, I bet!
