Hello November

I like november....it has my birthday, thanksgiving, my oma's birthday and the day of the dead in it....what's not to like, lol!
So the new header is a rock on a beach at Seal Rock which is south of Newport and in this photo the rock you see (which isn't seal rock itself) has about 2 dozen pelicans on it. We seem to have some pelicans who winter with us and I like to think these are a few of them.
I've also finished my leaf fairy pin...I think this will be the last pink one for a while. It's a difficult color for me and I've just begun to make friends with it, but there's no need to go overboard!
I am working on gathering pieces for the november bjp. My lab results weren't good (some tumor markers are up) but we are trying another drug now and when it kicks in, I should be pain free again for a while, so that's very hopeful.
I think it's going to be an interesting month.

I'm also reminded of my favorite wendell berry poem this morning....

The Peace of Wild Things

When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life
and my children's lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water,
and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world,
and am free.

My kind of poem.

Hey everyone, The Birthday Is Saturday--November 6...don't forget!

Making peace with pink. Interesting concept. I used to hat pink. Now I tolerate it in small doses. Salmon and coral, now they are my shades of "pink".

I was wondering last week how your test would come out. I'm going to have to pray louder.

Best wishes for a peaceful day and star filled night.
xx, Carol

Sorry about your tests....

A lovely poem....

The pink works even though it isn't your favorite color.

Please take care of yourself.

The Wendell Berry poem certainly speaks to what I have admired but never had words for. If we all could be safe in the "present", we could experience nivana.
Be safe and enjoy your eventful month.
Love what you created. May all the good fairies be with you.

Beautiful fairy pin - I love the pink and I'm glad you've been exploring with it. I'm very sorry about your tests but will be winging good thoughts your way with the new medicine. Thank you so much for the Wendell Berry poem - its a beauty which I'll print off and keep nearby. A wonderful reminder to keep my eye on the moment and not the invisible future.

I am so sorry to hear about the lab results, Bobbi. I hope that the new drug kicks in fast and relieves your pain.

I saw that it was your birthday this week when I changed my calendar. Hoping you and Chuck, and friends, have grand plans and are off to have fun and celebrate!

The poem is so beautiful! There is such healing power in nature. May you always find comfort and peace among the "wild things".

Keeping you in my thoughts and sending much love and gentle hugs your way. XOX ~Lisa

P.S. I love the new header photo and the leaf fairy pin is lovely...even done in pinks.

Bobbi, you are in my thoughts daily. I'm sending every positive vibe I can to you. Love the poem. I think we all need to remember those things. I give you credit for staying on top of everything the way you do. I'm so far behind in my BJP pages this year. Hope to be caught up soon.

Great poem. I know too many people who worry so much about the future they no longer enjoy the present. The present is all we have.

I hope the medicine works!
