July BJP and Low Tide

We had a minus tide this morning combined with no fog on the beach, so a friend and I took our cameras out and had some fun!
A few years ago a lot of sand got shifted and some ancient tree roots were exposed for the first time in many years on one of our beaches north of town. Most of the them were eventually covered up again, but there are still a couple left and you can see one of them in my photo. Because they're very dimensional there are a lot of pools formed by the roots that have partially filled with sand and/or rocks and that is what is in the close up photo. I photographed it as I found it....the ochre rock just as you see it.
I was so jazzed, when I got home I finished my july bjp, even to the framing, so now I can concentrate on my big summer piece and the sample for the class I'm teaching in a couple of weeks. I do wish I had a camera that could give you some idea of how the swarovski crystals and margaritas flash in this piece!
Hope you're all having a lovely day...I'm so excited our summer has really arrived, I'm almost giddy, lol!

Your July BJP is magnificent. I absolutely love the design. Its perfection. It really is!

I live a few blocks from the St. Joseph River in Northern Indiana. My road is 3 blocks long and ends at a bay in the river, just above a dam. There is another dam about 5 miles before it so I am between 2 dams. About 25 years ago, one closed and the other opened for repairs so our bay emptied down to the dry bed. OMgosh, we had such an interesting time walking across the bay and seeing all the debris on the river bed. There were skeletons of so many dead creatures that we couldn't identify. It would have been so cool to have a digital camera then.

I bet you see a lot of stuff along the ocean shore!

Have a nice evening.
xx, Carol

thanks, carol! wow...your empty bay sounds interesting! this morning we weren't at a part of the coast where it was all that interesting...mostly just more sand further out (I had hoped that there might be more tree roots, but that wasn't the case)....but there are beaches south of town where you can see tidepools that are usually covered during a minus tide...and that can be very interesting!

Nice to know I'm not the only one who takes pictures of rocks. lol I love stuff like that. The kids think I'm crazy. Your July page is gorgeous. I'm playing catch up with BJP at the moment. Almost done with my June page. Seems like I had a lot going on this Spring.

Looks like Nature has a positive effect, maybe we can channel it from you?

I always take pictures of rocks, tree bark, dirt, lichens, and anything else that has great texture! How I wish I could come and spend a morning or two with you on your beach.

Your July piece is the best yet...and I have loved all of them!

I love them all, but think your July piece is my favorite! It makes me so happy to look at it... must be the folk art, lacey look to it, and the colors, and the sparkle!

I also enjoy your beach pictures very much... Imagine! A golden heart-rock just there waiting for your camera. No wonder you were feeling giddy!

Big hugs! Robin A.
