Creative Gathering and Sorting

So today my creative activity consisted of taking some fiber and fabric a friend gave me when sorting through her stash and untangling all the yarns and sorting through the bits of fabric....this is just the sort of thing I would have tossed before I saw the kind of work Jude is doing at her blog, Spirit Cloth. Now I can see all sorts of ways to use the bits of fabric and yarn. One of my small goals this year is to do more and more improvisational work since that's such a challenge for me. I can plan things out and create them, but to just start and work randomly, now that's hard (but oh so much fun)!

I work half random half planning don't know if I would enjoy total randomness though. Have fun with this new exploratory goal!

Meanwhile, if I plan a project out it no longer holds enough interest for me to actually make it!

Random is good, Bobbi -- you are going to love trying it.

I always find the scraps from other much more inspiring than scraps of my own. i am doing some random beading at the moment. i dont like it yet, but am determined to continue just in case it gets better!

I love that you are willing to open yourself to the intuitive, spontaneous thread of process! You may find some wonderful surprises as you learn the trust the process itself...it sounds like the gifts are already beginning to reveal themselves!

Working improvisationally isn't new to me, all the bjp pieces were done that way, but doing it all in fabric, with no center focal piece or pieces...that's a new step...and I really liked doing it on the small square shape I used on my small bag!
yeah paula...sometimes when you keep going it gets better...and sometimes not, lol...but the only way to find out is to go for it...
They are indeed, camilla!

I keep all my little scraps of fabric and yarn too...with the hope I may use them one day!

I find that I 'what if' a lot...I think she started a very big thing! ;-)
