Baffled
I'm a bit baffled about this ceramic chicken vessel/bead I got a Shipwreck beads on our way home....it has a hole that is plugged up at one end (and was supposed to be used to put a bit of cotton with essential oil in it) but that plugs up the hole you'd have to hang the bead with? So are these just little vessels not meant to be hung? But then why the hole that's only plugged on one end? I don't know if I'm missing the point or if the folks who made it were a little unclear on the concept, lol!

Were they smoking something when they made it? I think it seems confused as to what it wants to be. At first I thought it was a dragon without fire! Very un- er different!
Lol....they might have been, mary! The chicken is looking back at the "egg" coming out of her behind...I've definitely not seen one like that before!
I guess you will just have to consider it as one of life's delightful oddities, Bobbi. It is an interesting item . . .

What a fascinating strange object...
well i can't explain the holes, but i love the bead/vessel.
Absolutely cracking up over Mary's comment...LOL!!! First off...you LUCKY girl stopping at Shipwreck beads on your way home...sounds like fun! I've never seen one like this before. It seems that you found yourself a 'very' unique ceramic chicken!!! Whether it is a vessel or bead...she's sure cute! Maybe she is suppose to just sit and not hang? How big is she? Maybe she would like to sit with your bunny in your studio! ~Lisa ;-)
Funny bead! Love it, thank you for sharing :)

I couldn't see the hole in the picture. Is it on top? It doesn't look big enough to put some oil in it and a wick for a candle - could it hold an incense stick for burning? Is it really a bead? It's certainly a "curiosity" piece!
It's got a place in the assemblage I keep next to the PC and I do like looking at it...freebird, the round "egg" covers the hole and I think it was just made for a little tiny ball of cotton with a drop of essential oil on it...which is something I'd never do with it anyway since my DH is extremely sensitive to fragrances and I try hard not to add to his load!
