Forced Update

It seems I've been forced to update to the new templates...none of which I like all that much, but I'm not savvy enough to make my own just now.
So, I've got a new header but the whole blog is scrunched in the middle of the screen, surrounded by acres of black, on my screen anyway. I'd like to use the minima stretched, but it doesn't come in basic black, so we're stuck with this for the moment.
And I appear to have lost all of my links and can't remember how to add them all back on...so that will have to stay as it is too...for now anyway.
All this started because I wanted to add the gadget or widget or whatever-it for the new BJP to my sidebar but I can't seem to figure out how to do that either...sigh....
Maybe I'll have more time and patience tomorrow...

It's a bit scary to read that you're having trouble with the template for your blog. For what it's worth, I like the pic in the header (something I haven't been able to figure out how to do with my chosen template).

hi sue...I like the photo too and it's easier to change it with the "new" blogger but I just didn't realize I'd lose my links when I switched over...my fault, I'm sure.

Bobbi, I "think" all I did to get the new BJP button on my blog was to copy the button to a graphics program on my computer, then copy the link to the main BJP blog. Then I imported the button art to the "widget" thingie and pasted the link to the blog. Does that make sense to you?

I've been struggling with my template as well. It use to be a snap for me and I had the time to monkey with it, now I have no patience for it.

hi kathy...no, I tried the widget thingy and couldn't figure out where to paste what...where do you input the URL and where do you upload the picture?
yeah, janey...I'm with you there"!

Got your email kathy and that did it...thanks!

You are most welcome, Bobbi -- can't believe I figured out how to do it myself! Progress of sorts, it seems . . .

I keep forgetting that along with bead embroidery, a lot of us have also learned (more) about blogging and posting photos, etc., so it's been a web-learning experience too!

Love you new photo in your header...just beautiful!!! I wonder why you lost your links? On my screen there is about an inch framed in black. It looks great from here! I've got to add the BJP button on my blog too...on the 'to-do' list!

BTW, I believe Grace did the button again for this year and I just love that she chose one of my MOST favorite pieces of last year...MAY!!! ;-)

Bobbi - I just LOVE the new picture at the top! when we're in Newport in December, I'm hoping that we get one nice day so I can go out snapping pictures. You'll have to show me all the good places to go.

our goofy friend Paula was having computer problems one day and she called Tech Support. She knew he nice man was ready to give up when he asked if she had a 14-year old boy in the house who could do it for her....

sorry to sound ignorant, but is teh BJP something you sign up for? or is it self-motivated? I'm assuming when you say late-nighters that you have a deadline imposed by someone else, but am curious who that someone would be. thanks for the info! back to my quilts now...

hi kate...that would be so cool...I'll keep my fingers crossed for a great photo day!
sorry, I just assume most of the folks reading my blog are from the Bead Journal Project...I don't know how to add links to the comments but if you google it you can get lots of info....yes, it is something you sign up for, although the deadline for this year was aug. 15, so it's closed now...I did last year's too and some of the pieces in my show are from my 12 journal "pages"...

hi lisa! glad to hear you're not seeing as much black as I am! and yes...I was really pleased to see that the button came from a part of my may page from last year! I'll have to give grace and extra hug for that!

hi again kate...duh to me...if the click the bjp2008 button on my sidebar it will take you to all the info...you don't need to google it!

(now I'll have to visit paula's website again...haven't been in ages!)

OMG - talk about opening a window. I have butterflies in my tummy right now - the BJP link lead me to the QuiltArts link, which lead me to thinking.....

thank you!

Paula discovered ATC and is totally absorbed in that now. Not sure if she's done much with her web pages. Oh, and she has a new job, too! get this - at Precor, the ones who make exercise machines. we'll see how that goes!

Grace did make last year's great BJP button, but this year Diane Moore made it, and I think it's another great one. I think the whole project is great!
And I like your header, Bobbi. I've been trying to get one up but it's big like yours, so I just keep deleting it.

Love the new header - makes me want to try to figure out how to do that on my blog... Looking forward to the BJP too, have been thinking about it non stop for about two weeks now.

hi kate...ATC's are fun and I've done some with paper but none with beading...

thanks susan...I'll have to give diane a hug then!

mixpix, you just have to resize your photo to 660 pixels wide or so and that should keep it about the same size as mine...let me know if it works...I love to see other folks' photo headers...

Great header. Too bad about your links. Why couldn't they make it to save everything! I haven't played with my header yet. Didn't figure I knew what I was doing.
