Sunshine and Macrame

We had some unscheduled sunshine yesterday (yeah!) and I was inspired enough to do something I haven't done since the 70's - macrame! I had an idea for a very simple bracelet (since I couldn't remember much about techinques) and it took hardly any time at all...I was tickled. In the 70's I wasn't making bracelets, but big wall hangings with tree branches and driftwood, so it was a big difference in scale for me...good thing since I'm not 20 anymore either and don't have "quite" as much energy as I had then, lol!
I also took a little break and drove over to the the ocean and then out the bay road and took some photos....you can't see them, but there were a lot of geese on the other side of the river...I couldn't see them either, but I could sure hear them! Definitely spring around here!

Hi Bobbi, your bracelet is very pretty! I to remember the 70's and the macrame days! Gosh, those were good times!
The beach is so beautiful and seems so peaceful. When I lived in Florida I was at the beach every chance I had, I just loved it!
I hope that you have a wonderful rest of your day.
Hugs and happy beading...

Great pics, Bobbi. Isn't it funny how doing one little thing like macrame brings back so many memories?

O gosh. I just went through that macrame thing with my grandson. He wanted a simple necklace. I never did any wall hangings, but I made a TON of plant hangers. Back then, I had so many plants we had to arrange the furniture around them and which one went in which window. ~lol. It was a lot of responsibility to keep them all happy!

Love your bracelet.

Hi Bobbi, I remember making big macrame wall hangings myself. I did the jewlery too. This piece of yours is so pretty. Bring it with you to Nye Beads. I would love to see it in person.

Hi Bobbi -- boy you brought back some memories with this one. I made a macrame window covering out of jute - man that stuff was hard on the hands!

I see a lot of you also did macrame! Somehow revisiting the technique also led to mentally revisiting the times themselves.

The bracelet is really pretty. So delicate unlike those old pieces of macrame. I remember making a fishbowl hanger which held for months and then we came home from shopping one day to find the knot at the base had given way and a shattered bowl lay on the floor. That was the last piece I made. I keep meaning to make jewelry like your bracelet but don't get around to it. Too many things I want to do is the problem! Back in the 70's we didn't have so many materials or opportunities and I think that was easier for me.

Hi You!!!

Thanks for swinging by and I hope the sunshine is lifting that funk feeling. And, we promised, remember, we get there when we can!
In reading and catching up this morning, I have to comment on a few...promise that I won't on all of them. :)

The new look and header is beautiful...and it feels very comforting with the background color. The photos are lovely...I just love seeing your snaps! I can feel standing there and smelling that ocean air!

Your macrame piece turned out great! What fun...me too!!! Actually, Mom, Mark and I all macramed...owls with driftwood, plant hangers and bracelets! Takes me back...

I hope you are having a nice day!!!

Sending my love...~Lisa
