Happy New Year

Hope you're all starting the new year with peace and love in your hearts and friends and family in your thoughts.
I'm feeling very thankful to still be here and I hope I remember now and then to let you all know how much I appreciate your comments and the time you take to visit here in my little corner (feels pretty cosy these days) of the web...
I'll also have to thank blogger for making it so amazingly easy to change the look of the blog from month to month...it's sure fun!

I've been thinking about what I'd like to focus on this year and I think it's going to be about slowing down a bit more and not being so judgmental about myself if I'm not as productive as I think I "should" be....I'll be watching my cats a lot since they seem to have perfected the art of relaxation, although I am not planning on spending 18 hours of the day napping, lol!

Ah, the life of our kitties -- would be blissful, perhaps, but not as much fun as all our creative endeavors, right?

Here's to a great New Year . . .

oh yeah, kathy...I'd rather make something than sleep most days!

I'm hoping that this year I can almost eliminate the word "should" from my vocabulary. Way too many "shoulds" that don't really matter.

I'm with you on that, barb!

So much we can learn from our kitties. I also learn from my dog who is happy no matter what. I have great admiration for you, going through your treatments. When I underwent chemo one of the worst parts was the effect of the shots for building up blood cells.
Happy new year!

Oh I don't know... 18 hours of napping sounds pretty good to me right now! [If I could just manage to get done what I wanted to in the 6 remaining hours ;-)]

and what is wrong with that? look how gorgeous kitty looks and how relax and no a hair out of place. Maybe that is the reason why they never have a bad hair day. I hope you are feeling fine and I continue to send you healing thoughts in this journey. I know in my heart that things are going to work just fine and that 2010 will gift us with much creativity and good health to see us through another year of friendship.

Hugs from here.

I'm most curious about how you got that interesting effect with the photo. She almost looks like the carpet!

thanks for all the great new year wishes...maybe we can all get in a few more naps this year, lol!

hugs to you too, allegra...

kate, you'll laugh...I used the sumi filter on photoshop for Sumi (and fiddled with the sliders some)...the result surprised me since that is not what I think of when I think of sumi-e painting!

Happy New Year! Good for you that you are going to focus on slowing down a bit. I think I need to focus on learning to say no. ;-)
