Black Czech Nailheads

I have a friend who sells vintage uncirculated nailheads and beads and over the years I've bought a lot of black czech nailheads from him....they come in dozens of shapes and many sizes and probably comprise, all together, about 1/5 of my entire nailhead collection. I use a lot of them on my bead embroidery but I'm always trying to figure out new uses for them and even though I don't wear a lot of jewelry, I do wear a lot of black, so a bracelet or two for me and the millions of seattleites who wear black might be in order....alas, I'm not much of a stringer...that doesn't seem to be my forte, but I do kind of like the simplicity of this little piece. It's got three strands of 3 different shaped black nailheads and is very light weight. I'm going to wear it for a while and see if I continue to like it and if I do, I might make a few for my little etsy shop...

Loooove nailheads! Very cool bracelet. I pick up nailheads anywhere I can find them. I, too, like to use them in my bead embroidery whenever possible. Sometimes, nothing else will do.

I've never considered stringing nailheads because of the back side not always being such a pretty sight... I figured some would be faceted side up, some would rotate to flat side up. I'll be interested to hear of your impressions as you wear it for a few days. Looks lovely in the photo.

Also... your new header picture is a total knock out! Be careful, all your readers will be tempted to move to the OR Coast. You've captured it's beauty so fabulously!

If you like, you can email me the picture and I'll optimize it for you so that it will load more quickly.

Hugs, Robin A.

hi - not sure I'd want the gold clasp with the black and silver. Do you have something in silver you could try?? just a thought...

hi, arline...
yeah, that's kept me from using them too, robin...but then I thought maybe I'm just being fussy and some will enjoy the randomness of the sides? ha, the header is from the southern coast...they need more people, lol! (and thanks for the heads up on the photo! I've downsized it...since I'm on cable I just didn't even notice, bad me!
hi kate! talked to cheri yesterday and I'm restringing it with the fine silver soft flex and using a silver plated slide clasp!

I couldn't figure out what silver you were talking about kate...that's actually black nailheads with the light shining off them...I didn't use any silver nailheads in the bracelet, lol!

Bobbi - I guess it was the light, but the clasp looked like they were gold, but now....oddly...they look silver.

never mind, must have logged on too early this AM!

hey kate...no the clasp was gold, but there wasn't any silver in it...now I've taken it apart and will be redoing it with silver clasp, but the nailheads will still all be black.

Well, I kinda liked it with the gold clasp . . . guess that's what makes the world go 'round, right?

Oh, I like it!!! I like the different shapes together and the simplicity of it too! I think gold or silver with black goes well, although I think the younger girls wear a lot of silver. At least my nieces all do! As you know, I'm a huge fan of black! I think this bracelet would do well in your Etsy shop!
