Okay, I have to ask, what is Basho? What ever it is it looks good.

This piece is so elegant, Bobbi. How are you planning to mount all these Basho pieces?

mary, it's a series of 44 separate 4x4" mixed media fiber "tiles", inspired by "Narrow Road to the Interior" by Matsuo Basho, 17th Century Japanese poet and writer. Each tile loosely corresponds to a stop on his journey and that's what I took as inspiration and starting point for this project.

ha, that's a good question, kathy! I've got a few ideas but haven't decided on one yet...at this point I'm thinking it won't involve backing and edging all of them, as that would probably take me another year...so it will probably be some way of mounting them all together as a unit....maybe....

I was just going to say " Okay, just what IS basho" but Mary Timme beat me to it! It looks like a thunderstorm.

Way to go, Bobbi -- you'll make your deadline with time to spare.

What a beautiful image of a raincloud, Bobbi. Your work is beautifully honoring Basho's poetry and writing.

This one especially (but it isn't the only one)looks like it could be a visual for the I Ching. Mountain over water, for instance. I love this one, BB. And I cannot wait to see the whole thing put together.
