First Three Basho Finished

I finished the backs of the first three Basho pieces today while gallery sitting....they will all look like this one...black (much darker than the photo shows) ultrasuede with small eyes (from hook & eye sets) and whipstitched all around...

This exhibit will be so outstanding, Bobbi -- each page is a beauty!

I agree with Kathy. This display will be fabulous. Each piece is a treat on its own, but as a whole, it will be unbeatable.

Bobbi, these will look amazing hung up together. Where will you display them?
I love them all and am feeling especially drawn in by the one in lower left that looks like an exotic sea creature diving into the depths.

I hope that when they're all together they give some idea of what a major trip it was for Basho and me, metaphorically.

I'm showing them in an exhibit of my beadwork and the beadwork of two friends at our local visual arts center in August of this year. I'm showing work from the last 5 years, not sure what the other two are showing, but they're both fabulous bead artists, so it will be interesting, at least!
karen, the one you like is the third in the series and in it he talks about traveling light but no being able to let everything go...this piece is my interpretation of leaving stuff behind but still carrying some with you (like the center of the large circle piece)...

BB - I love the shape you've chosen for the backing. This is really a masterwork. I cannot wait to see a shot of all of it hung together. Worth every finger cramp and more.
