Love the arch type piece on the left! and the material if amazing! Which begs the question, how long had you been collecting bits and pieces and material for this project? Also, had you made all the pages and they were waiting to be beaded or do you choose the material at the start of every page? Thanks for sharing your art work! Cheers, Denise
thanks, arline! yes, it's a stylized bone crane...
hey, denise...I've been collecting bits and pieces for the Basho series since I started it in january 2007...I've been collecting fat quarters (mostly) since I started doing bead embroidery and decided I'd rather work on cotton batik than on the stiff white interfacing my friends were using...I think that's been about 8 years.
oh, and to answer your last question, I choose the fabric at the start of every page and then pull in the pieces and beads from there.

Ooh, Bobbi. I really love this one. Is that bone one the left? I love the shape of it.

Ooo, I really like this one! Whatever will you do when you finally make the last one in the series?! ;- )
then I get to figure out how I want to exhibit them, sue!
when that's done, then I heave a huge sigh of relief!
Another beautiful Basho page. Can't wait to see them all together --- 9 more?????
Looks like you didn't stay worn out for long! I think when they are all together it will be one stupendous work!
You have completed so many of these!

a couple of days usually does it, freebird...
I have, lb...and I see you're finished beading the yellow submarine!
This piece is a treat for my flu sick eyes, Bobbi! Best medicine I have had in days and days.
