July BJP

Just picked out the fabric for the july bjp...I'm thinking "earth" this month and that always makes me think of alive and growing things so this bamboo batik seems just right...the lighter colors of spring are still here in some of the flowers but the deeper summer colors are coming up.
We have some dear old friends visiting and the weather is just beautiful (even if the wind does just about knock you off your feet on the headlands), so we've been out and about a lot.
Tomorrow I'll start pulling open drawers to see what might work with this month's colors and theme.

Lovely you have friends visiting and to have good weather besides is an additional plus. Have a great time together -- nothing like time spent with friends.

PS
I love the bamboo batik -

This bamboo batik is beautiful, but then I am a sucker for that shade of blue/green.

Glad you had a nice visit with your friends. We have friends from Washington State coming next week.

Perfect colors for July! Plus, the bamboo reminds me a little of fireworks and celebrations. What will you find in your open drawers, I wonder????? Hugs, Robin

o my Bobbi, you do have glorious fabric for all your backgrounds! I'd love to see your stash! can't wait to see what you do with this one.

Wow. It's been longer than I thought since I last visited. It looks to me as if you are accomplishing a lot. I haven't done half what you have and I'm not worrying about my health. I love the bits of fabric and odds and ends you are using. The little string of roving looks super on your pieces.

I hope your depression lifts. It's a funny kind of thing as it can creep up on us and hang around and then one morning you can wake up and it's gone. I hope that happens for you.

Have you tried turning these fabrics and bits into inchies?

Picking out the fabric for the background has been one of the most fun parts of this year's bjp...and then finding a focal point and the beads, etc. to go with it...to express the things I can't speak or write about because I don't have the words...but I have the colors...

hi pam...my stash is small yard-wise, as it's mostly fat quarters but I do seem to have a lot of them, lol!

hi timaree...I've been making ATC sized ones...haven't tried inchies yet...that may be next.

Love the batik you chose and the colors...gorgeous!

I hope you had a great time with your friends too! The weather must have been just perfect. It was getting mighty toasty here and I really was trying not to whine! ;-)
