Started the piece for the exhibit with a tiny cloisonne dragon, along with vintage nailheads and the beautiful new metallic charlottes...they're good to work with and feel silky while you're handling them...

Oh how I would love to sneak in and look at your stash!!! You are always coming up with the most unique additions to your beading.
I just bead...generally to embellish a greater project...purse, journal cover, art quilt, etc.. I do know seed beads, delicas, bugles, daggars, drops....but what are charlottes...and what are nailheads? Love your work BTW!

Where did you find the metallic Charolettes? I haven't seen them. I love charolettes.

dotti...a charlotte is a small Czech seed bead, usually size 13, that has a single facet on it, unlike regular seeds that have no facets and cut beads which have a lot of facets...a nailhead is a very old bead (made before WWII) that has a flat bottom and a round and/or faceted top...mostly round in shape, but I have some in other shapes too. Their holes run parallel to the flat bottom, so are easy to sew on and they stay in position. Sometimes they are called sew-ons on ebay.
I found the metallics at our local pow wow last august, carol...I thought I saw some on the web too but will have to see if I can remember where and send the URL to you...
