Holiday Show

Here's my little case for the holiday show at the visual arts gallery here in newport. I was able to borrow a small, locking case for the show from our local bead shop, nye cottage beads, since the owner is a friend...thanks, linda!
There are 35 items in the case, ranging from $12 pin cushions to two $300 cuffs and represents over 150 hours of work...it's all been a labor of love, which is good, because, as most beaders know, it's a hard way to make a living!

But a great way to make a life...

That's a great case, Bobbi. It shows off your work beautifully. Yes, beadwork does take a great deal of time and patience but it is our labor of love and so meditative. It's during those quiet moments as I am rhythmically weaving the beads into a creation that I come into contact with me.
Happy birthday, anniversary and memories!
Hey, my high school boyfriend had a VW bus just like yours only his was a dark color. I remember making curtains for it with embroidered moons and stars. Memories...

thanks for all the kind comments!

The cuffs, the necklace, some of the earrings and the pin cushions are all shown, close up, in my flickr photos...(see my links)...
I am not too good at display, and my friend who is, is doing her own show this weekend, so I plan on dragging her over next week sometime and seeing if she can help me make it look better!
