Weekend

It's been a pretty productive weekend for me...I got 11 pincushions to the point of just needing a bit of embellishing (and one finished to round out a dozen) and I finished the clasp for a RAW bracelet I'm working on....the clasp is 5 layers thick with a transparent rose AB on one side, a transparent lavender AB on the other and an opaque eggshell in the middle....the bracelet itself will have all three beads in it, but I haven't quite decided on the design yet.

Great weekend of accomplishments -- the clasp is lovely -- and what fun with all the pin cushions.

I love the clasp, I really love beading with crystals. Will it be a toggle clasp of some sort? I look forward to seeing the completed bracelet. Those pincushions are really cute too.

hi jackie...thanks!

hi nancy...not exactly a toggle clasp, I don't think...more of a buckle-like one.

Your clasp is really pretty. I tried layering the stitch per instructions in Beadwork's Beaded Beads but couldn't get it going right and finally gave up. Do you know of another book with instructions for the layering?

And how big is your clasp. The photo makes it look rather large. Can't wait to see the bracelet you make to go with it.

the clasp is 1 and 3/8 inches to a side, just a bit under 1 1/2 inches.

I know chris prussing wrote a book on right angle weave....have you seen it? It might be worth a look, if you have a bookstore close enough that you can just preview the book first because I'm not sure how good the instructions are since I don't have the book.

"pretty" productive? You leave most people in the dust! What a marvelous clasp, BB! And I love the basket of pincushions.

hi lj! well, I have a friend who leaves me in the dust regularly, so maybe I'm comparing my productivity to the wrong people! LOL!

Thanks for the name. I can look up the name and see what books come up at Amazon. I found some lids to use; they aren't plastic but aluminum. I took them from some quart bottles of beer my husband bought. They are the same size as the plastic so I'll see if they work. Now to go find your instructions...
