Better

This is getting closer to what I'm going for...and for sunni...the red circles, red acorns and the small mint green beads are all nailheads....they come in lots of sizes and shapes, but were all made before WWII and some even before 1900,,,

I swear the top one is singing.
I love it more with each bead you add to it. I need to get back to work on mine but I am working on a doll.

Oh yes, this is much better ( in MHO ) -- the addition of the colors just perks it up and draws you right to the faces -- the "acorn beads" are delightful and anything with nail heads on is a winner in my book LOL. Looking wonderful, BB.

hi sunni...yes, it seems to me to be singing too...I'll have to ask it what the tune is...

hi jackie! yes, we are two wild and crazy nailhead collectors, aren't we!

thanks, diana....I'm almost sad to be coming to the end of the wonderful bus trip you've been on...;(

They're a vintage bead with a flat bottom and (usually) faceted top, sort of like a cabachon, but with a hole running parallel to the bottom...sometimes they're called sew-ons.

If you google "vintage nailheads" you can see some...if you just google nailheads without saying vintage, you'll just get the contemporary metal studs that go on jeans and clothing.
