I've got the bottom of the beaded box done...now I'm wondering if I really need to make the lid? I've got about 14 hours into it already and the lid will probably be another 6....so let's see...20 hours into the basket....maybe I'll just keep it!
sarah, I would recommend the book but with caveats....I've been doing peyote for almost 20 years and there were a couple of times I had to really read carefully to figure out what had to be done next....so I would not personally recommend it for beginners. Also, I think the book isn't as well organized as it could be and I found her choice of words puzzling sometimes. But, if you go slowly and are good at decipering instructions, the finished product is very lovely.
That is gorgeous. I took a hexagonal box class from Judy Walker at a Bead & Button show. I liked it so much I bought Julia Pretl's book, but it's just been sitting on my shelf. Maybe I need to pull it out!

If you've already done one christina, you'll probably have no problems with julia pretl's instructions...I'd love to see the box you made in class!
Thanks for the info!, I think I'll get a bit more practise in before I try it then, I'm not totally comfortable with incs & decs sometimes .
