Fini

All done and getting ready to start on a couple of heart pin/pendants for my etsy shop....plus I've got the fabric hands all cut out for the february bjp, but won't start it until next month.
The weather has been off and on rain showers but yesterday when we went for our walk we saw some pussywillows beginning to bloom and we have a tiny daffodil already blooming on the sun porch...it may not quite be spring yet, but I'm catching a glimpse of it in the distance!

I like you you've decided to shadow the beaded hand with other pieces of fabric. What does the chinese character mean?? These hands are going to be wonderful!

That is wonderful. The background creates a whirlpoot effect, which draws the viewer into the magic of the hand. Very Eastern.
If I cross your hand with silver, will you tell me my fortune?

thanks, lisa!

hi susan...the chinese character is luck, but turned upside down for the chinese new year (I read somewhere on the web that it's the only time a character is turned upside down...hope that's accurate!)

of course I will, pat!)

thanks so much! I'm sure enjoying seeing the other bjp'ers who are working on or finished with their january pieces! I love the stories almost as much as the art works themselves!

Time and luck (Fu) tied together her in the palm of your hand, like Fatima's dream, and surrounded by hearts of love. I love this and how it's developed, Bobbi! Going back and reading your in-progress posts was a treat! The layers of fabric and beading over the top layer onto the middle layer just sends me!

Hugs, Robin

Hi Bobbi
I just love everything about it. Its really cool while looking at it to focul on the hand shape, and the one behind it and the one behind that one. Its like looking through a hand opening and another farther away and then farthest and you found the treasure.

I'm just weird!

Love the color and the pattern. And the Hand of Fatima concept is very imaginative!

Just SO MARVY!! I am really welcoming a whole year of watching your palms unfold...or *open*....

May I ask, what is this mounted on (the background)?

Lovely piece!

I like the whole effect - the hand shape, the layers, the symbols, the colours, the mounting. Great work. I look forward to seeing more hands as the year progresses.

thanks again for all the kind comments...

sweetpea, the backing is a metallic paper I got from a friend, so I don't know where, or if, you can buy it, but it sure makes a good background for fiber/beadwork!
